What is the best way to set up an appointment?

Do you offer a complimentary phone consultation?
Yes we offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to discuss your needs and decide whether we are a good fit.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, check, debit or credit card.
What insurance plans do you accept?
We do not work with insurance companies, however, you still may be eligible to receive benefits. Check with your PPO insurance plan to find out if you have “out-of-network” mental health coverage, what the reimbursement rate is, and how many sessions your plan covers. If you have coverage, we can provide you a monthly statement, or “superbill”, to submit to your insurance provider for a portion of counseling fees possibly reimbursed directly to you.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged the session fee.

Therapy Questions
What happens in our first session?
Generally in the first session we get to know each other. I gain an understanding of the areas that are troubling you and what you want from our sessions. We will look at your strengths and begin to determine a plan that puts you on a path of overcoming your challenges.
How many sessions are required?
Counseling may be a brief process of just a few sessions to deal with a specific short-term problem, or it may be longer to deal with more complicated or entrenched patterns of beliefs and behaviors that interfere with your life. Again, we will work together to formulate your plan.
Will I need to fill out any paperwork?
Yes. There are forms that address “informed consent” and confidentiality, which are very important in therapy. We will go over them at the beginning of the first session.
